Scott’s Boat Pages I established this site in 2008 to have a dedicated place to discuss a variety of topics related to boat design, boat building, cruising and voyaging in boats and all other things nautical. As the subtitle at the top of the page says, this is a site where “boats are an obsession…” Most of my biggest adventures that led to writing for magazines as well as my nonfiction and fiction books were centered around boats; from sea kayaks to sailboats that I either built or restored.
Bug Out Survival I established this site in 2009 in advance of the publication of my book: Bug Out: The Complete Plan for Escaping a Catastrophic Disaster Before It’s Too Late. The topics explored here are mostly to do with wilderness and disaster survival and expand on the subject matter of that book and my subsequent survival-related books and include gear reviews and how-to information.
Element II: A Wharram Tiki 26 Catamaran This blog site is a detailed journal of the construction of a Wharram Tiki 26 catamaran that I built from plans beginning in 2007. The boat was sold just before launch when I took a different direction in the type of sailing vessel I wanted for my future adventures, but the journal will remain live as many other Wharram catamaran builders written to say the photographs, techniques and solutions presented have been helpful. Wooden boatbuilding has been one of my passions for twenty years and during this time I have built nearly twenty boats including canoes, sea kayaks, fishing boats and sailing craft.
